Hinton brings more than 20 years of YMCA experience to the Batavia branch. Most recently she spent six years at Anderson’s ME Lyons YMCA first as senior program director and then as associate executive director. While there, she oversaw a large sports program including aquatics and the competitive Anderson Barracuda’ss swim team. Hinton also led the branch’s efforts in implementing innovative programs such as our partnership with a local middle school where students who otherwise wouldn’t have had an enriching environment to spend afterschool time could exercise and participate in structured activities with positive role models. Additionally, she established a partnership with the University of Cincinnati Clermont to provide service learning opportunities both at ME Lyons and Clermont Family YMCAs for students.
As the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati’s task team leader for summer camps, Hinton has worked with branches – including the Clermont Family YMCA – to earn American Camp Association’s accreditation based upon 300 standards of quality of care. As the task team leader for the association’s childcare, she has helped to ensure the YMCA provides structured and nurturing environments throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky where children thrive.
“My greatest pleasure in my career has been seeing the YMCA’s positive impact in the lives of others. I’m looking forward to leading a dedicated team of staff and volunteers at the Clermont Family YMCA who are all committed to creating an environment where people will thrive,” said Hinton.
